Prof. Dr. Reda Saad Ezz, Professor of Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, will participate in the Oncology Conference at Al-Azhar Faculty of Medicine on September 10, 2026, where he will deliver a specialized scientific lecture on anastomotic leakage following esophagectomy, including its prevention, diagnosis, and management.

The lecture will address one of the important complications that may occur following esophageal resection surgery, with particular emphasis on strategies to reduce the risk of postoperative leakage, including key surgical considerations and the importance of careful patient monitoring during the postoperative period.

Prof. Dr. Reda Ezz will also discuss methods for the early detection and diagnosis of leakage following esophagectomy, as well as the assessment of each case to determine the severity of the condition and select the most appropriate management approach according to the patient's clinical status.

The lecture will further highlight different approaches to the management and treatment of anastomotic leakage, focusing on how the most suitable intervention can be selected for each individual case in light of surgical experience and ongoing advances in the management of complications following esophageal surgery.
